1. Save It! Images: Images may be saved in your F: drive or on a CD or other removable media. If the image you want is part of a web page, point to the image with your mouse, right-click and select Save Image As. Save the image file in an appropriate location (i.e. F: drive). If necessary, rename it to something logical, but be sure to maintain the appropriate file extension (.jpg, .gif, etc.). Documents: Create and save a document (i.e. a worksheet in Word that you want to associate with your web page) in your F: drive. In general, documents should be converted to PDF format before posting to a web page

2. Import It! (Move the files from the saved location (i.e. F: drive) to the BOCES web server)Link documents to a web page - ShenTRAC FAQ's Login to FrontPage and navigate to your web space. Make sure you are in Folder View. Navigate to your images folder. Make sure the images folder is selected/ highlighted in the Folder List. Use the File menu to select Import (you may need to allow the File menu to expand). import image Click the Add File button. Navigate to the location of your saved images (i.e. F: drive). Select the desired images and click Open (you can select multiple images simultaneously by holding the Ctrl key while clicking the files). Look carefully at the Import box. Make sure the URL path shows that your images will be saved to your images folder. Click OK. Make sure your files were imported to the desired location. While in Folder View, look for the images/documents. If they didn’t end up in the correct location, drag the files or folder to another location.

Important! Do not copy/paste images
directly onto a web page.


3. Insert (or Hyperlink) It! Switch to Page View. Click where you would like the image to appear. Use the Insert menu to select Picture and From File. Navigate to where the image is saved (i.e. your BOCES images folder) and click Insert. Resize and resample (compress) the image if necessary. or Hyperlink Document – Type and highlight the text that you wish to use as your link. Use the Insert menu to select Hyperlink. Navigate to the saved location (in your BOCES web space), click to select the document to link, and then click OK.
