When mail merging numeric data, too many decimal places appear in the Word document.This is a featured page


  1. While viewing the mail merge file (in Word), right-click on the merge field representing the numeric data. Select Edit Field.
  2. Click the Field Code button near the bottom of the window.
  3. Under Advanced Field Properties (on the right), find the edit line that reads:
    MERGEFIELD <yourfieldname>
  4. After the name of the field, type: \# 0.00 ( \# 0.000 for 3 decimal places, etc.)
  5. Click OK.
